The Role:
The process group is responsible for the ownership of plant which processes isotopes of hydrogen. The plant function is to process specific gas mixtures of hydrogen.

The work of the group has increased to include re-commissioning the existing plant, and in addition the design/procurement/installation/commissioning of a completely new facility

Main responsibilities of the role include:

1. Responsible Officer (RO) for an AGHS Tier 1 sub system or equivalent.
a. Tier 1 systems refer to the larger and most complicated AGHS subsystems.
b. Tier 2 systems whilst still large and/or complex are normally of a slightly reduced magnitude than the Tier 1 sub-systems.
c. The term Responsible Each AGHS sub system RO has, with the aid of their deputies, the responsibility to; maintain, or organise the maintenance, of the sub system to ensure that it remains in an operable state. If a system is inoperable then work towards its commissioning shall be performed in a timescale agreed with their line management

2. Deputy RO (dRO) for at least 1 Tier 1 or Tier 2 AGHS sub systems.

3. Perform sub system component testing as required by the AGHS Operating Instructions (OIs), LRs or Hardwired Interlock testing schedule.

4. Maintain or develop records and information pertaining to the construction, operation and function of the sub system including, but not limited to, manuals for components, system drawings and maintenance/operational records.

5. Liaise with the Tritium Plant Maintenance Manager (TPMM) regarding the maintenance, testing, calibration and identification of the sub system Key Safety Related Equipment (KSRE) and Key Plant (KP) and ensure that the TPMM is informed of modifications too, and component purchases for, the sub system.

6. Maintain an accurate and up to date set of OIs for the sub system.

7. Ensure that all modifications to the sub system are recorded in accordance with CCFE procedures.

8. Identify areas where improvements could be made to a sub system. This should encompass, but is not limited to, physical modifications to plant and changes to operational practices and methodologies.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Experience in the maintenance or design of a plant handling radioactive materials or other hazardous materials including procedural and safety requirements.
* Experience in commissioning of process plant sub systems.
* Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in either; chemical engineering, process engineering, nuclear engineering, physics, chemistry or materials science.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Experience in either of the following areas; mechanical design, design/maintenance of isotope separation systems
* Experience in a systems engineering approach to long term plant performance and availability.
* Experience in the writing and reviewing of plant operating instructions and work control documentation.
