The Role:
PURPOSE
This job description details the responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer, reporting to the Plant Manager.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLE
Working as part of the SCHP management team, the Maintenance Engineer leads the delivery of safe, effective, planning, co-ordination and completion of plant maintenance and engineering activities, (particularly electrical or control & Instrumentation equipment, supporting plant operations, management of change and projects.)
MAJOR DUTIES
Effectively lead plan & co-ordinate plant engineering & maintenance activities, balancing commercial operations and safety considerations.
Participate in & co-ordinate engineering and maintenance fault diagnosis, problem solving and improvements.
Organise, prepare, negotiate, manage and evaluate, assigned engineering & maintenance contracts, ensuring they operate within agreed budgetary requirements, taking action to reduce costs and overall risk levels.
Produce and maintain appropriate plant engineering & maintenance systems, (CMMS), documentation, procedures & records in line with statutory & business needs.
Actively contribute to and support plant safety schemes, reporting and events, implementing recommendations.
Work to ISO quality management systems & standards ensuring engineering & maintenance compliance. Support & lead planned & unplanned shutdowns ensuring timely, safe and efficient work control.
Monitor Emergency Shutdown Design systems, taking control of daily testing and the design of new systems.
Establish strong, effective relationships with all SCHP team members, customers, competent authorities &
stakeholders.
Remain up to date with general and E,C&I maintenance & engineering best practice, industry trends &
statutory requirements, including site specifications & document control procedures.
Drive compliance by meeting standards, completing audits, communicating outcomes & completing actions. Complete the responsibilities & portray the position of Maintenance Engineer in a positive and professional
manner. Be a central contact & information point for other personnel on designated matters.
Complete environmental management responsibilities including collation of & submission of environment reports to the client & attendance & chairing required meetings.
Complete HV SAP responsibilities.
As required, deputise for other management team positions. Support the management team on call rota.
Support cross site groups.
