Role synopsis
* For the Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) teams, either at a site, or within a functional team: Develop, Maintain and Deliver an integrated schedule that fosters safe, reliable and efficient execution of work in service of our operations.
* Coordinate delivery of the M&E Functional team 8Q, 12, 6 week and 2 week execution schedule in Primavera P6.
* Progress work in Primavera and ensure close-out of SAPPM work orders.
* Recommend whether to allow activities to enter the 12-, 6- and 2-week scheduling window.
* Recommend which activities to execute when the full activity set exceeds constraints.
* Recommend whether to approve requests to break into the schedule (waiver request).
Key accountabilities
Deliver optimized Functional 8Q and 12-, 6- and 2-week Schedules that are integrated across areas and impacted functions. And,
Coordinate with Site Integration Specialist to delivery optimize schedule to deliver business value.
* Facilitate M&E Function's 6-week Scheduling meeting and 2-week Execution Scheduling meeting.
* Ensure that the Function's 6-week Schedule is fully populated with all constrained activities and is deliverable within Functional and Site constraints.
* Ensure that all activities have been checked against the Function's required readiness criteria per the required time horizon (8Q, 12, 6, 2week).
* Support the Gatekeeper in assessing schedule waiver requests.
* Generate site execution schedules ensuring resource utilization is maximized and operational impacts are managed.
* Perform resource leveling across all activities in the targeted execution timeframe.
* Communicate the agreed 6-week Schedule and 2-week Execution Schedule to all Functions and Site personnel.
* Participate in backlog reviews and daily scheduling discussions, making updates to execution schedule as needed.
Support the identification and resolution of delivery risks, resource conflicts, emergent work and schedule waivers.
* Identify activities that bring risk to delivery of Functional Schedules.
* Identify and drive resolution of functional resource conflicts
* Support Gatekeepers in assessing schedule waivers.
* Review new emergent work: ensure that data quality is high, that all required information has been completed, and that all new work has been assigned to the site or functional teams to plan.
* Manage the inclusion of approved emergent work into the Schedule.
Drive Functional execution efficiency
* Update progress on M&E Functional activities in Primavera on a weekly basis.
* Highlight slippage in the schedule and propose actions to recover.
* Support improvements in functional scheduling performance
* First point of contact for SPAs to address issues relating to scheduling and AP tools
* Review Function's execution efficiency performance with leadership team and propose improvement actions.
* Apply Primavera processes that are consistent with the companies Upstream Recommended Practice.
Contractor integration
* Liaise with contractor planning teams to ensure alignment of client and Contractor Plans and Schedules
Essential Education
High school diploma or GED (General Education Development certificate) plus 2-year Tech School or Associate Degree -- or equivalent experience
Essential experience and job requirements
Planning & Scheduling
* Significant understanding and experience with planning and scheduling concepts, and their application in a business environment.
* Understanding and experience in schedule integration across multiple groups and multiple time horizons.
* Ability to do quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Technical
* Prior experience and knowledge or Primavera P6 preferred.
* Working knowledge of planning and scheduling tools.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Management and Interpersonal
* Good communication and influencing skills
* Personal understanding and commitment to HSSE.
* Demonstrated success in working within high performance environments.
* Bias for action; takes action before being asked or forced by events; anticipates future situations and plans ahead to meet challenges.
* Detail oriented with ability to influence and turn complexity into something simple.
* Proven ability to schedule within constraints and recognize/ resolve conflicts.
Desirable criteria and qualifications
* Working knowledge of the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry.
* Working experience in an operations environment.
* Experience in the use of Primavera scheduling software.
* Experience with resource allocation analysis and leveling.
* Operations and/or projects experience.
* BS degree in engineering, operations management, business or finance.
